Brand new for 2021, True is proud to introduce the next generation of great goalie sticks, the True Catalyst 9X Intermediate Goalie Stick! The all-new Catalyst 9X is a lightweight composite stick built to be more responsive, with a stiffer paddle, increased playability and optimized durability.

Starting at the paddle and the blade, the True Catalyst 9X is designed with an improved braided rib system, which offers a dampened feel and optimized balance and durability, in addition to being incredibly lightweight. The Catalyst 9X is approximately 30 grams lighter than the previous generation AX9.

The Catalyst 9X offers a redesigned higher flex zone in the paddle, giving the stick a mid-kick profile. This flex profile is optimized for easier, faster loading times and more powerful passes while clearing the puck.

Moving up to the handle of the True Catalyst 9X, you will notice a departure from the A-series, with a more rounded corner of the shaft and a steeper angle. This allows for added grip and ultimate feel while stickhandling.

Finally, throughout the True Catalyst 9X, True’s all-new Precision Laminate Design (PLD) optimizes the angles of the carbon fiber layers throughout the shaft, which offers increased impact strength and optimal stiffness while reducing the weight of the stick.

When compared to the Catalyst 5X, the 9X will feature higher grade materials, as well as a carbon finish on the blade and iridescent True logos on the paddle.

Generally, there is no true sizing when it comes to sticks due to the high amount of preference that comes with choosing a size of stick. Factors such as stance, play style, and comfortability come into play when choosing the right stick. For a goalie choosing a stick for the first time, we personally recommend getting a stick relative to the rest of your gear sizes. For example, Senior pads, glove, and blocker goalies should use a Senior stick.

As for the specific number sizing of a stick, this is where the other factors roll in to place so, finding another stick as a reference to feel out the size is the best advice if you truly don't know what size you are. A stick should allow the goaltender to comfortably be in a "ready stance" with the stick flush to the ground between their pads.

For the hockey player, True Temper’s “True” sticks have a one-time replacement warranty for breakage during normal use within 30 days of purchase. Normal use does NOT include breakage due to contact with other players, skates, sticks (slashing), boards, nets, use on asphalt or cement surfaces, etc. and hence no replacement will be offered in those cases. True Temper Sports will inspect the returned product and will determine if the product damage was caused by normal use and that there is no evidence of misuse, tampering, heating, abuse or deception.

Shipping charges are non-refundable.

The warranty date becomes effective:

For products sold directly to the end user through an authorized True Temper Sports retailer - from the date of receipt.

Return of the product

To replace a broken product, contact True Temper Sports directly, not your True Temper Sports retailer. Please follow the steps below so that we can begin to process your claim.
Fill out the online Warranty Return form on this page.
We will evaluate your return authorization request.
If it meets our policy requirement, we will send you a return authorization number (RA) within 5 business days.
Once an RA number is issued, all broken products must be received by True Temper Sports within 14 calendar days. Otherwise the RA will expire, the warranty return will be revaluated and a new RA will be issued, if eligible.
After we have authorized the return, please send your product and RA number via a prepaid, insured, traceable method to ensure a safe and documented delivery.
