Bauer Supreme 2S Pro Senior Goalie Leg Pads

Brand new for 2018, Bauer has continued their revolutionary line and brought out the new Bauer Supreme 2S Pro Senior Goalie Leg Pads. The 2S leg pad will feature tweaks in the build process, construction and overall durability to make the Supreme line of equipment better than before.

Dating back to the original Supreme 1S pad, there was a new process in which the pad was constructed. This technology was called C.O.R.TECH Skin technology which stands for Coefficient of Restitution Technology. Bauer has continued this engineering process of combining Cross linked Polyethylene foam, Curv Composite additives, lycra-spandex, poly-urethane and digitally printed graphics. Now, the 2S pad is updated with C.O.R.TECH – ST skin that is made of higher quality, super tough outer materials which resist breakdown and improve the life of the pad.

Combined with the C.O.R.TECH – ST skin, the top portion of the thigh features a new binding and design, similar to the Vapor 1X pad. This new design thins out at the very edge of the pad which reduces overall surface area, allows for a seamless closure at the thigh rise and improves durability from the pads rubbing together. Other improvements on the pad are found on the inside and outside toe portion of the 2S pad. Now, there is a subtle material reinforcement which is now sewn down to reduce any lifting from friction or sliding. On the outside toe, the reinforcement patch is larger and sewn down to help improve durability.

Internally, the pad features CURV Composite materials in the thigh of the pad to increase rigidity and create a true single internal break below the knee. This stiffer thigh rise and shape will help kick out rebounds to increase the recovery time and reduce the amount of second shot chances. On the knee section of the pad, there is a new knee block which is made of a Nash material designed to help the goaltenders knee grip into the pad. The thickness has been updated as well to provide more comfort when dropping into the butterfly. Moving through to the calf, in the previous generations there was a slight gap that pucks could potentially slip under, and this new laced-in design to the inner slide plate will create a better seal when in the butterfly.

On the back of the pad, goalies will find similar strapping when compared to the previous generation as it has stayed consistent on the 2S line. The leg channel features CRS strapping options on the knee, calf and boot. There will be 1 knee strap which can be run directly behind the knee or angled down to the calf depending on the goalies preference. Next, the calf will feature 3 straps to secure the leg to the pad. The upper calf strap is a CRS double strap which starts internally and doubles back to the outside of the calf wrap.

The middle strap runs from the outside of the leg to the inside of the calf to secure the inner calf and sliding plates. The last strap in the calf is lower on the leg, just above the boot to keep the goalies leg in the pad. Finishing off the pad, the 2S will feature an offset toe tie with elastic stretch laces to keep the pad close to the goaltenders leg, while still allowing the proper amount of stretch and movement to make key saves.

Compared to the Supreme S29 pad, the 2S will feature higher quality materials both internally externally that will allow the pad to have better durability and a lighter weight.

Bauer Supreme 2S Pro Senior Goalie Glove

Brand new for 2018, Bauer has continued their revolutionary line and brought out the new Bauer Supreme 2S Pro Senior Goalie Glove. The 2S Glove will feature tweaks in the build process, construction and overall durability to make the Supreme line of equipment better than before.

The 2S Pro Glove starts off with a crisp digitally printed graphic to increase a clean surface area. With the reduction of stitches and graphic, the weight is also reduced and gives the glove a lightweight feel on the hand. Much like the 2S leg pads, the glove will also feature a new C.O.R.TECH – ST skin to provide better durability over time.

Starting with the cuff, the 2S Pro will feature a solid 1-piece cuff to help any negative flex in the cuff and wrist, giving the goalie a clean blocking surface when they need to squeeze in tight. In the palm, there will be XRD Foam reinforcements to reduce the amount of stingers and increase protection if a puck is not cleanly caught. Adding to the perimeter, there are Curv Composites materials added to give more protection and help retain the shape of the glove over time. For the closure of the glove, the 2S Pro will feature a 75 degree style closure which will give the goalie the ability to catch the pucks above or past the finger tips.

Moving to the back of the glove, the 2S Pro has redesigned padding to help create strategic cuts to make the glove closure feel more natural. This Free Flex backside starts across the back of the finger tips and moves all the way up through the wrist which will give the goalie full range of movement to get their hand in position to make key saves. Lined across the hand is Bauer’s 37.5 technologies which will help keep the hand dry throughout game play and disperse sweat away from the hand.

New for the 2S Pro is a Double T build which adds more lacing in to the pocket of the glove. With more lace being added, it reduces the amount of plastics and leathers and adds more soft materials to help retain pucks that enter the pocket. This design is met with specific lacing colors to match the main graphic on the glove.

The 2S Pro blocker starts off with a crisp digitally printed graphic to increase blocking surface area. With the reduction of stitches and graphic, the weight is also reduced and gives the blocker a lightweight feel on the back of the hand. Much like the 2S leg pads, the blocker will also feature a new C.O.R.TECH – ST skin to provide better durability over time.

On the board itself, it is created with HD foams topped with Bauer’s Curv Composite material to help drive pucks hard and away from the body, ultimately giving the goalie the advantage in rebound control and creating more time for recovery. Moving through to the back of the blocker, the blocker is lined with a cream Nash for a soft feel and comfortable grip. New, the palm is a ventilated Nash Pro palm with XRD reinforcements in the fingers to help protect the goalie from any potential pucks squeaking through.

Building off of the success of the previous generation, the sidewall is still a large rigid piece designed to help seal the body and provide the goalie with a solid blocking surface between the blocker and the body. This sidewall is met with large reinforcements around the thumb and index finger to create a solid seal against the goalies stick.

Moving through to the wrist area, the 2S pro will feature Bauer’s Free Flex design with Vent Armor foam to give the goalie completely uninhibited wrist mobility to make any save. Combining the Vent Armor and the 37.5 liner technology, goaltenders will notice a reduction in heat and sweat throughout game play.
