Choosing the right fit for a goalie stick is largely player preference. Manufacturers do not typically offer sizing guidelines for goalie sticks as individual play styles, stances, comfort preferences, and body dimensions vary widely. As a general guideline, start with a stick in the same age group (Youth, Junior, Intermediate, or Senior) as the rest of your equipment. Then, refer your height against the above table to find a generally recommended paddle length.*
If you are unsure and would prefer a more precise fit, use another goalie stick for comparison or visit one of our locations to be fitted. For the most precise fit, wear your skates, blocker-side leg pad, and blocker. Then, assume a "ready stance", feeling how the new paddle length affects your stance. If the stick's paddle is too long, causing you to have to stand too tall, you risk losing significant mobility and coverage in the crease; too short and you may find your ready stance far too low to comfortably maintain. In your ready stance, a properly sized stick should sit flush against the ice, putting your blocker in a position at the top outside edge of your blocker-side leg pad.
