CCM's EFLEX 6.5 skates are built to get goalies out on the ice comfortably, and more affordably, whether they're just starting out or getting back in the crease.
Build
Heat-moldable 3D Injected Boot: CCM's heat-moldable 3D injected boot offers goalies just enough flex to help develop lower leg strength and dexterity, without compromising the goalie's confidence in their feet.
130 Stiffness Rating: Using CCM's proprietary "Stiffness Performance Index", the EFLEX 6.5 skates come in at 130, the most flexible in their goalie skate lineup. Compared to the EF6 & 6.9 skates' 170 - 190 ratings, the EF6.5 skates' softer, 130 flex, will likely feel easier on the feet for younger and more recreational goalies.
7mm Felt Tongue w/ Molded Lace-bite Protection: Layered atop 7mm of felt padding, the EF6.9 skates' lace-bite protection is injection-molded into a flexible segmentation, improving comfort without inhibiting forward flex.
Comfort
Microfiber liner w/ High-density Padding: To keep goalies performing their best, CCM's EFLEX 6.5 goalie skates pad and secure the feet with HD foams and a soft, sweat-wicking microfiber liner.
Molded CCM Footbed: The EF6.5 skates cushion the feet with a dense, recyled foam, molded to support and pad the foot's anatomical shape.
Holder & Steel
SpeedBlade XSG Holder w/ 10F27 Profile Steel: CCM's SpeedBlade XSG holder not only allows goalies to hold a lower, more aggressive edge, but makes it easy to swap in fresh steels for every skate. Included with the EF6.5 skates, CCM's SpeedBlade XSG1 runners are cut with an aggressive, forward-leaning profile.
When you receive your skates, try them on and push your foot forward so that your toes (while flat) barely glance the toe cap. Bend your knee forward and look behind the heel of your foot down the skate. If you can fit a finger behind the heel easily, the skates are too big. A fingertip should be securely wedged between the heel of your foot and the back side of the skate.
While all players might have their own preference for fit, hockey skates should be 1 ½ sizes down from your shoe size. For most players this will be close to the proper fit. For example, if you are a U.S. Men’s shoe size 9, you would want to go with a skate size 7.5.
Goalie Skate sizing may be confusing to new goaltender, if you are looking for further information on how a Goalie Skate should size and fit, please visit Goalie Skate Buying Guide or contact our customer support team for personalized guidance.
